Hot meal and coffee service
24th Sep. 2015 Relief work for Kanto-Tohoku heavy rain and flood at Jyoso city General gymnasium by The Salvation Army.
￼After the typhoon went through, heavy rain and floods was happened Kanto and Tohoku district in Japan. This is the second operation at this gymnasium only 50km away from Tokyo. Here is one of the temporary shelters. Also it has the function of volunteer center, the stock yard and distribution point of the relief materials. Our team brought two of our canteen car and provided 355 hot meals (beef bowls and soups) and 150 cup of iced coffee for the victims and volunteer staffs. We used many of the foodstuffs made at the place of previous huge tsunami and earthquake attacked areas happened in Mar. 2011.
During the meal serving, we heard the real voices of the victims. Pastor Iwagami (REV) from Disaster Chaplaincy commitee in DRCnet/ Crach Japan joined our team.
